Quantum Corner - Transfer Matrix Dmrg

چکیده
We propose a new method for the calculation of thermodynamic properties of onedimensional quantum systems by combining the TMRG approach with the corner transfer-matrix method. The corner transfer-matrix DMRG method brings reasonable advantage over TMRG for classical systems. We have modified the concept for the calculation of thermal properties of one-dimensional quantum systems. The novel QCTMRG algorithm is implemented and used to study two simple test cases, the classical Ising chain and the isotropic Heisenberg model. In a discussion, the advantages and challenges are illuminated.

Tensor Product Variational Formulation for Quantum Systems
We consider a variational problem for the two-dimensional (2D) Heisenberg and XY models, using a trial state which is constructed as a 2D product of local weights. Variational energy is calculated by use of the the corner transfer matrix renormalization group (CTMRG) method, and its upper bound is surveyed. The variational approach is a way of applying the density matrix renormalization group m...
متن کاملStochastic Light-Cone CTMRG: a new DMRG approach to stochastic models
We develop a new variant of the recently introduced stochastic transfermatrix DMRG which we call stochastic light-cone corner-transfer-matrix DMRG (LCTMRG). It is a numerical method to compute dynamic properties of onedimensional stochastic processes. As suggested by its name, the LCTMRG is a modification of the corner-transfer-matrix DMRG (CTMRG), adjusted by an additional causality argument. ...
متن کاملSelf-Consistent Tensor Product Variational Approximation for 3D Classical Models
We propose a numerical variational method for three-dimensional (3D) classical lattice models. We construct the variational state as a product of local tensors, and improve it by use of the corner transfer matrix renormalization group (CTMRG), which is a variant of the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) applied to 2D classical systems. Numerical efficiency of this approximation is inve...
متن کاملAngular quantization and the density matrix renormalization group
Path integral techniques for the density matrix of a one-dimensional statistical system near a boundary previously employed in black-hole physics are applied to providing a new interpretation of the density matrix renormalization group: its efficacy is due to the concentration of quantum states near the boundary. There has recently been a revival of interest in the study of statistical properti...
متن کاملThe density-matrix renormalization group applied to transfer matrices: Static and dynamical properties of one-dimensional quantum systems at finite temperature
The density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) applied to transfer matrices allows it to calculate static as well as dynamical properties of onedimensional quantum systems at finite temperature in the thermodynamic limit. To this end the quantum system is mapped onto a two-dimensional classical system by a Trotter-Suzuki decomposition. Here we discuss two different mappings: The standard mappi...
